Is James Bond To Be In The Tintin Movie – The Adventures of Tintin:Secrets of the Unicorn?

The latest reports seem point towards Daniel Craig who is now most famous for playing James Bond to become the villain in the new Tintin Movie – The Adventures of Tintin:Secrets of the Unicorn.

 Daniel Craig who is best known for re-invigorating the 007 franchise with the two recent James Bond Films Casino Royal and Quantum of Solace. The start of Casino Royal was voted best James Bond sequence ever by loyal bond fans.

The reports seem to suggest that Craig has been signed up to play the role of the evil pirate Red Rackham in the first of what both Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson hope will become a successful Tintin movie trilogy.

Filming has already begun on the first Tintin Movie which is being directed by Steven Spielberg according to Variety Magazine. Variety also claims that the film will be partly shot in Wellington this year. It seems most of the filming so far has been done in front of a green screen for motion capture purposes.

The Tintin trilogy will be shot entirely in using motion capture technology which will be processed in New Zealand at the Weta workshop which was co-founded by Peter Jackson. You will recognise Weta work on the Lord of the Ring Trilogy particularly to bring Gollum to life.

Other notable actors believed to be involved in the upcoming Tintin movie are Jamie Bell (who is to play Tintin), Andy Serkis (who is to play Captain Haddock) and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Thomson and Thompson).
