Tintin Movie - Who Is Gad Elmaleh
Who Is Gad Elmaleh (Playing Ben Salaad Tintin and the Secret of the Unicorn)
The most unknown of the new three conformed actors to the Tintin movie is Gad Elmaleh. Gad Elmaleh was born in Morocco in 1971. He most likely got the acting gene through his father who was a mime. After leaving school in Casablanca he went to Montreal where during his four year stint as a student worked on radio, wrote humorous Stories and then played them in nightclubs.
In 1992 he left for Paris and took Le Cours Florent course where he ahd Isabelle Nanty as a teacher. He wrote a one nam show titled “Decalages” which covered his
experiences in Montreal and Paris. He went onto present a second one man show “La Vie Normale” which showed his superb acting skills and his ability to bring humour t the stage. He has had a critically acclaimed acting career in various French movies. He lives with French actress Anne Brochet and they have one son Noe.
None of the French films he has been in have really been successful internationally but many have won awards although the only award Gad has won himself is probably one he doesn’t boast too much about but he won “Best Kiss” for Hors de Prix which he shared with Audrey Tatou.
He is an interesting pick and it is nice to see a French language actor involved in the projects which I guess many Tintin fans hope will be repeated with some other characters in the hope that the feel of Herge's ligne claire Tintin albums isn't lost on the big screen.
